The Kerepehi Brass Band entertained in the Karangahake Gorge on March 16 by playing Irish music for St Patrick’s day – complete with green hats.
The event may be the band’s last public performance for some months due to the Covid-19 shutdown, which means the Band has also suspended it’s usual Wednesday evening practices until after Easter at least. The usual ANZAC Day services attended by the band have also been cancelled.
The band still welcomes any players wanting to join, not only brass but also percussion, and is currently looking for any musicians interested in replacing their band master, Brett Lowe, who has moved to Wellington. Anyone interested in finding out more please contact band secretary Heather O’Hagan, after hours Ph 07 862 7163, text 027 171 3220 or email to info@ohaganvisioncare.co.nz.
