Fireworks will boom once again at Paeroa Domain on October 29 after two years of Covid-19 extinguishments.
The Paeroa Fireworks Display, which has been hosted by Paeroa Lions Club for around 20 years, will take place from 5pm with the fireworks set to dazzle the night sky at 9pm.
Paeroa Lions member and head of the fireworks display committee Phil Hughes told The Profile he hoped there would be “plenty of support” from the public.
“It’s a pretty spectacular show, and people come from all over like Hamilton for it, you’ll be impressed if you haven’t seen it before,” he said.
Phil said the event would feature food stalls, kids activities, raffles, a competition for best dressed, and live entertainment by the L&P Rockers and Paeroa Central School prior to the fireworks. The event costs $8 for adults, $4 for children and $20 for a family (two adults and two children).
President Oliver Taylor said the event raised around $15,000 from entry fees in previous years. The majority of the funds raised from the event would go towards fireworks costs and any money leftover would go towards Paeroa Lions projects and local charities, he said.
