Two long-time supporters of the Life Education Trust in Waikato East were recognised at its annual awards last week.
Held in Paeroa, the Waikato East arm of the Life Education Trust – famous for sharing Harold the Giraffe with schools across New Zealand – thanked Gina Morrison and Rae Challis for their service and support.
The evening was attended by Waikato East educator Mike Budd, the trust’s patron Lesley Gordon, and national education support manager Michelle Dow, who said the trust continued to evolve as society evolved.
“Rest assured, the support of Life Education in your community is making a difference,” she said.
Mike Budd told guests that out of the 75 schools in Waikato East, Harold visited all but five of them.
With schools continuing to support the trust throughout the Covid-19 pandemic, Mr Budd said Life Education remained a much-needed asset in the community.
