Latest road closures in place for the Thames-Coromandel district as at 10am.
* The 309 Road is OPEN.
* Old Coach Rd is CLOSED 1km from start of the road due to a large slip. It will be shut for some time.
* Port Jackson Road is CLOSED: Ohinewai Ford is closed due to flooding.
* Fletcher Bay Road is CLOSED due to flooding.
* Old Maratoto Road is CLOSED. Flooding signs are up.
* Hikuai Settlement Road is CLOSED between Prescott’s Garage and the roundabout at Pāuanui. Work crews are on site at both ends and the road is likely to be closed for some time
* Wentworth Valley Rd is CLOSED due to surface water flooding making the road impassable.
* Tapu Coroglen Road has a slip at Square Kauri but is OPEN and passable. Expect a ‘Stop-Go’ system to operate.
* Kennedy Bay Road is CLOSED due to a slip blocking the road on Chook Corner. The slip location is approximately 2km from Coromandel Town.
* Hot Water beach is OPEN with surface flooding. We will monitor as we get closer to high tide around midday
* Colville Road, Amedeo Bay is OPEN but a tree is blocking half a lane between Papa Aroha and Amodeo Bay
TCDC has also been informed of these closures:
* SH25A is CLOSED at Kōpū to prevent travelers from trying to access destinations past Hikuai or Pāuanui.
* SH25 is CLOSED between SH25a and McBeth Road – a slip
* SH25 is CLOSED Hikuai Settlement Road – Flooding
