UPDATE: The Hahei Market Day has been postponed until Saturday, January 28 due to stormy weather.
Around 140 food, art and clothing vendors will sell their wares in Hahei on January 28 to raise money for Hahei Library and community well-being projects.
Organiser and Library volunteer Robyn Dalzell said the annual event had been held for around 20 years and always drew a “huge crowd” and large group of volunteers.
“It’s a great event for the community and it links in really well with a lot of other market days around the area as well like the Keltic Fair and the Cooks Beach Summer Gala,” she said.
“Last year we donated to the Mercury Bay Cancer Support Trust, Hot Water Beach Lifeguard Service, Coromandel Rescue Helicopter, and some money had been put aside for developing the skatepark in Hahei.”
The market day will take place at Kotare Domain on Pa Rd from 9am to 2pm.
