A section of the Karangahake Gorge is under stop/go management this morning due to a crash in Waikino.
A three- vehicle collision at 8.20am forced the closure of State Highway 2 between Waitawheta Rd in Waikino, and Campbell Rd in Waihi.
The road has since been reopened, but Waka Kotahi is warning there may be further closures later this morning, to allow for vehicle recovery.
Initial reports suggest two people are in a moderate condition.
Motorists are advised to avoid the area and take an alternate route.
Enquiries into the circumstances of the crash are ongoing.
