The long-established singing group, Ohinemuri Singers, is based in Paeroa and is putting on two mid-winter concerts to “raise peoples’ spirits”.
A spokesperson for the non-profit group said with songs such as Singing in the Rain and Somewhere Over the Rainbow, the feeling of the shows promised to be upbeat and positive.
The group is ably supported by the keyboard-playing of the talented Valerie Holman, and there will also be guest artists performing.
Brett Lowe will be displaying his skills with the xylophone and banjo and Roz Begbie will present a piano item.
“The programme is made up of many well-known and much loved songs and will include a chance for the audience to join in with a rousing rendition of You’ll Never Walk Alone,” they said.
The first performance will be at Richmond Villas in Thames on Saturday, June 24, at 3pm.
The Paeroa concert will be at the Elim Church in Station Rd on Saturday, July 1, at 2pm.
Entry price is $10.
