It’s about time for the loveable Murphy, a “big, boisterous goofball” who has been waiting patiently since Easter, to find his forever home.
He was found roaming by Hauraki District Council and no owner has come forward.
A council spokesperson said Murphy is approximately two-years-old, and a Bullmastiff/Boxer cross.
He loves people and gets on well with other pound dogs – but he was a “bit of a sook” and cried when another dog accidently stepped on his foot, they said.
“He will need an owner that is confident with bigger dogs and has the time and patience to set down a few ground rules. Murphy is extremely enthusiastic, has very little respect for personal space, and believes that everyone should love him.”
Council said that Murphy loves attention, pats and cuddles, and “just being with people”. He was probably not suited to young children due to his size and clumsiness, however this would improve with good training.
“Murphy is an absolutely loveable rogue who needs a home to call his own.”
Murphy will come registered and with an adoption pack which includes some good quality dog food, treats etc. In lieu of an adoption fee, the new owner will need to get him desexed and vaccinated.
DETAILS: To enquire about adopting Murphy, phone the council on 0800 734 834 (in the district) or 07 862 8609.
