Metservice has issued a 12-hour Heavy Rain Watch notice for the Coromandel Peninsula from 11pm November 18 -11am November 19.
“An active frontal system moves across the country today and Friday bringing strong winds and heavy rain to several areas,” Metservice said.
No weather warning as yet, but heavy rainfall in the ranges may approach warning criteria.
“At the end of Saturday the low pressure system to our northeast is the next potential severe weather bringer.”
