The Rotary Paeroa V8 Car and Motorcycle Show and Swap Meet is speeding into Paeroa for its 19th year this weekend.
The event will be held at the Paeroa Domain on February 24th, and there will be plenty to do and see.
From 8am, the swap meet will commence, with enthusiasts putting their wares on display.
The main event kicks into gear at 10am with plenty of fantastic cars and motorbikes on display, as well as V8 trucks, police cars, limos, and an Austin 7 rocket car with twin pulse jet engine built by Paeroa resident Colin Brookes.
The fire department will be conducting a demonstration, and there will be a tug of war and a tyre-changing competition, as well as food and market stalls, a tattoo artist, and displays from local businesses.
This year, there is also a new category aimed at kids and teens, for bikes under 125cc. Up for grabs is a free motorbike lesson from Rev’s, while a $500 petrol voucher is up for grabs for car and bike entrants.
Rotary Paeroa president Katie McLaren said there would be something for everyone at the show.
“We’ve got an amazing rockabilly band from Hibiscus Coast called Boom Boom Deluxe, they’re fantastic,” she said.
“There will be awesome cars and motorbikes, fantastic displays, lots of market stalls, an amazing band and it’s just a great day out.”
