A group of basketball enthusiasts from Paeroa attended the Harlem Globetrotters Basketball World Tour event in Hamilton on July 10.
The Paeroa Basketball Association took 30 students, from year three to year 13, to see the show. Most of the group are current or former participants in the association’s mini-league programme, with older students now continuing to play basketball at Paeroa College.
The opportunity was made possible with help from the community, with Paeroa Rotary sponsoring the tickets for the event and Paeroa College loaning two school vans.
Paeroa Basketball Association secretary Josey McKain said it was a massive and exciting opportunity for the students to watch a prestigious basketball event.
