Waka Kotahi has advised a closure of Karangahake Gorge on May 11 to remove a fallen tree.
The gorge will be fully closed for up to an hour from 9.30am.
Road users are advised to exercise caution and allow extra time if they’re travelling through the Karangahake Gorge.
Stop/go traffic management will resume once the 30 metre tall tree has been safely brought down by arborists.
Meanwhile, another slip reduced the gorge to a single lane for much of May 9 and 10, just north of the Crown Hill Rd. The road was under stop/go management and caution was advised.
