Northbound traffic on State Highway 25 is being turned-back at Kōpū and southbound traffic is being turned-back in Thames, following a crash crash involving a car and a motorcycle on SH25 near Banks St, Thames, reported at 11.55am.
Police said one person was reported to be in a critical condition.
The Serious Crash Unit is in attendance.
The road is expected to be closed for several hours, motorists are advised to avoid the area and expect delays.
