Thames Centennial Pools was packed last month for the Thames Valley Primary School Swimming Champs. More than 360 year 5-8 students gathered at the pools to compete in their school cluster groups. The 12 clusters represented 43 schools from across Hauraki Plains and the Coromandel Peninsula. Parents and other supporters also turned up in droves, creating a carnival-like atmosphere for the young swimmers as they competed. ALICE PARMINTER waded in to see the fun.
